ATHENS, Ga. (July 11, 2026) - Atlanta United 2 earned a 4-1 win against Inter Miami CF II on Saturday at Turner Soccer Complex in Athens. Ignacio Suarez-Couri scored his first goal of the season, and Arif Kovac tallied his 15th and 16th goal contributions in the win.

Atlanta broke the deadlock in the 20th minute. After receiving a through ball into the left side of the box from Mohamed Cisset, Cameron Dunbar squared a pass centrally with his left foot toward Kovac. With defenders around him, Kovac quickly flicked the ball backwards with his heel into the path of Daniel Chica. Standing alone on the right side of the goal, Chica fired a powerful first-time shot past the goalkeeper and gave the 5-Stripes the lead.

In the last 15 minutes of the first half, Atlanta tallied five corners as the pressure on the Miami goal continued to mount. The best opportunity came in the 37th minute, when Adrian Gill, taking a corner from the right side, found the head of Chica, who drilled the ball hard and low toward goal. However, Miami goalkeeper Matias Marin was able to get down and block the shot back into play, where it was eventually cleared, leaving Atlanta to settle for a 1-0 advantage at the half.

Atlanta started the second half right where it left off, adding a second goal in the 51st minute. Enzo Dovlo, picking up a loose ball on the right wing, dribbled freely into the Miami box. Waiting for the right moment, Dovlo sent a central pass toward Suarez-Couri that arrived on target. Alone in front of goal, Suarez-Couri guided a shot into the top right corner of the net to make it 2-0.

Just one minute later, Atlanta grabbed a third. Chica, intercepting a pass in the Atlanta defensive half, played a ball up the right side to Suarez-Couri, who controlled it with his chest. With just one additional touch, Suarez-Couri played a through ball to Andrew Jardines, who was in a two-on-one situation with Kovac in the Miami box. After dribbling to the goal line, Jardines attempted a cut-back pass to Kovac, but it was blocked by Miami center back Tyler Hall, who inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net to extend the Atlanta lead.

In the 62nd minute, Kovac entered the score sheet with Atlanta’s fourth. Suarez-Couri, receiving the ball deep in the Atlanta half, played a lofted ball over the top to Enzo Dovlo down the right wing. After a failed clearance by Miami center back Nicholas Almeida saw Dovlo alone in the box, Marin came rushing out to diffuse the chance. However, the net was left open as a result, and Dovlo passed across to Kovac, who had a simple finish for the goal.

In the 86th minute, Miami prevented the clean sheet. Forward Idoh Zeltzer-Zubida dribbled through the center of the Atlanta defensive third before picking out midfielder Alejandro Flores at the top of the box. After two quick touches to settle the ball on his left foot, Flores struck a powerful arcing shot that beat the outstretched hand of Jayden Hibbert and nestled into the top left corner of the net.

Atlanta United 2 (9-5-3, 30 points) returns to action Saturday, July 18, when it travels to Huntsville to take on Huntsville City FC at Wicks Family Field (8 p.m. ET, MLSNEXTPro.com, OneFootball App, Soccer Down Here).
