KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Aug. 23, 2025) - Atlanta United 2 fell 2-1 at Orlando City B in the teams' third and final matchup of the season. Patrick Weah provided his fourth goal contribution in as many games while Santiago Pita provided his first professional assist.
The match was very physical out of the gate, and it kept both teams between the boxes throughout the first half. Toto Majub created Atlanta's best chance in the 12th minute with a long ball from the left side into the box for Weah, but his header was sent over the bar.
The second half had a much larger attacking presence, and it began with an Atlanta goal in the 48th minute. DD Sibrian won the ball in the midfield and carried it toward the right side before playing Pita in front of him. The 18-year old dribbled dangerously into the box and curled a cross with the outside of his left to a streaking Weah, who pushed in the opener.
Orlando responded five minutes later on a counter attack. Colin Guske won the ball off an errant Atlanta pass and quickly played Thalles on the right, who touched the ball inside the box and finished in the back post.
The game continued it's physicality with Majub being shown a yellow card in the 56th minute, suspending him from Atlanta's next match.
Halftime substitute Moises Tablante had a chance in the 69th minute, stripping the ball from an Orlando defender to touch into the left side of the box and shoot but Carlos Mercado dove to push the ball away.
Shak Mohammed found the winner in the final minute of stoppage time. Miscommunication in the back saw a long ball land between Jonathan Ransom and Ronan Wynne with neither pressing to clear. Mohammed followed the ball, touched it around the pair and scored to take all three points at the final whistle.
