FOXBOROUGH, Ma. (July 30, 2025) - Atlanta United 2 fell 3-0 at New England Revolution II on a hot Wednesday morning at Gillette Stadium. Iggy Suarez made his professional debut while Sal Mazzaferro captained the team for the first time.

Atlanta nearly had the lead inside the first minute. Rodrigo Neri was fed the ball on the right wing and played a cross to a streaking Ryan Carmichael. At the top of the six-yard box, Carmichael made contact with the header but couldn't keep his attempt on frame.

New England took control of the game with three goals in the first half. Marcos Dias scored a penalty in the 3rd minute, Malcom Fry scored in the 11th minute and Liam Butts finished in the 25th minute.

Atlanta came out of the break trying to cut the deficit. Gabriel Wesseh found the ball with space on the right wing and cut inside past three defenders, but his shot was blocked in the 53rd minute.

In the 72nd minute, Armas squared a free kick to Moises Tablante, who lofted the ball into the box for Carmichael. The Northern Irishman connected once again with a header, but Donovan Parisian stretched to save the ball heading for the bottom-left corner.

In the 85th minute, Suarez made his professional debut as a substitute for Kaiden Moore, becoming the eighth Academy player to make their debut for ATL UTD 2 this season as Atlanta's three-game unbeaten streak comes to an end.
