Scouting Report
Crown Legacy FC comes into the match sitting in 10th place in the Eastern Conference with 14 points and a 3-3-3 record. The Charlotte FC affiliate club has kept its matches close this season, having scored 15 goals and conceded 14 for a +1 goal differential through nine matches. The challenge for Atlanta will be containing scoring opportunities, not just from one player, but as a whole, as Crown Legacy has eight different goal scorers this season and eleven different players adding assists. Aron John and Nicholas Scardina have been the tip of the offensive spear, so containing those offensive weapons will be crucial for ATL UTD 2 to pick up three points.

Last Time Out
ATL UTD 2 returns to Fifth Third Stadium following a two-match road trip that concluded on May 25 against Chattanooga FC. Atlanta battled its rival club out to a 2-2 come-from-behind draw, its first of the season, before falling 5-3 on penalties. Luke Brennan got the scoring started for Atlanta in just the ninth minute after pressuring Chattanooga’s backline and forcing a turnover in the box. Brennan collected the ball at the endline and chipped a shot over Chattanooga’s keeper for an early 1-0 lead. Chattanooga turned things around in the second half, finding an equalizer early after the halftime break before they took a 2-1 lead in the 87th minute. Atlanta wasn’t done fighting, however, as Jacob Williams drew a crucial penalty kick in the 93rd minute which Javier Armas converted to take the match into a penalty shootout. The two sides traded successful penalties before Williams had his attempt saved up the middle, as ATL UTD 2 fell in the shootout 5-3.

Previous Meeting
Atlanta United 2 holds a 1-2-0 (W-L-D) record against Crown Legacy FC, with the last meeting between the two squads ending in a 3-1 victory for Atlanta at Fifth Third Stadium last August. Noah Cobb, Nelson Orji and Nick Firmino all found the back of the net in that contest.
