ATLANTA — Atlanta United 2 today announced that it has signed forward Ashton Gordon from the club’s Academy through the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season. Gordon will become an Atlanta United First Team player effective Jan. 1, 2025 on a contract through 2026 with options for 2027 and 2028.
Gordon, 16, joined Atlanta United’s Academy in January 2019 and played last season with the U-17s. He helped lead Atlanta to an MLS NEXT Cup championship in the U-16 age division in June 2023, leading the team with four goals during the playoff rounds of the tournament.
Gordon has made four appearances and recorded one goal for Jamaica’s U-17 national team, all of which came at the 2023 CONCACAF U-17 Championship in Guatemala. He scored on his debut, a 4-2 win against Cuba’s U-17s on Feb. 12, 2023.
