ATLANTA — Atlanta United 2 today announced the signing of midfielder Javier Armas through the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season with a club option for 2025. Armas starred at Oregon State University, earning All-Pac-12 honors in each of his final two seasons, including First Team Pac-12 in 2023.
Armas, 24, was the No. 48 overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft by Atlanta United. The La Coruña, Spain native played in 77 matches during his five-year career with the Beavers, finishing with six goals and 10 assists. He played and started in 20 matches in his final season as Oregon State advanced to the semi-final round of the College Cup for the first time in program history. The midfielder played nine years for the Deportivo de La Coruña academy before making the move to the U.S.
