ATLANTA (March 14, 2023) — Atlanta United 2 today announced its regular season schedule as it’s set to make its debut in MLS NEXT Pro this upcoming season. The team will host 14 matches at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, which will continue as the home venue for ATL UTD 2. Head Coach Steve Cooke will make his club debut in the season opener on Sunday, March 26 against New England Revolution II at home. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, March 15 at 10 a.m. Season, multi match and single match tickets will be available.
Six of the first nine matches will be played at home this season, highlighted by three consecutive home matches to close out the month of April. Orlando City B comes to Atlanta on April 16, followed by Chicago Fire II on April 22 and Philadelphia Union II on April 30. The final home match in this first stretch will see Crown Legacy FC, Charlotte FC’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, come to Kennesaw on Sunday, May 14.
The team will have a three-match road stretch in June. It plays three consecutive road matches from June 9-18 against Philadelphia Union II (June 9), Columbus Crew 2 (June 15) and Toronto FC II (June 18). The following month, ATL UTD 2’s schedule features two road matches followed by two home matches, including welcoming former coach Jack Collison and Huntsville City FC to town on July 23.
The 28-match regular season concludes in September when ATL UTD 2 will host FC Cincinnati 2 (Sept. 2) and Inter Miami CF II (Sept. 17), while playing road matches at Huntsville City FC (Sept. 10) and Columbus Crew 2 (Sept. 24) in the regular season finale.
ATL UTD 2 will play in the Central Division within the Eastern Conference. Other teams in the Central Division include Chicago, Columbus, Cincinnati, Orlando, Miami and Huntsville. The Eastern Conference features a total of 13 teams split between the Central and Northeast Divisions, while the Western Conference will consist of 14 teams in the Pacific and Frontier Divisions. Within each conference, the two division champions and the five clubs with the next highest points (seven clubs total) will advance to the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs.
