U.S. Soccer today announced Atlanta United Academy forward Luke Brennan has been called up to the U.S. Under-19 Men's Youth National Team for its upcoming training camp in Carson, California from July 25 to Aug. 2.
Brennan, 17, has logged 480 minutes for Atlanta United 2 this season, scoring two goals in his last three games to become the youngest goal-scorer for the club this season. The Atlanta, Georgia native has made 15 appearances, five of them starts, under head coach Jack Collison.
Participating in Generation adidas Cup in April with Atlanta United U-17s, Brennan played a crucial part in the squad qualifying for the knockout rounds out of the group stage; the forward scored a game-winning goal against FC Cincinnati.
Brennan becomes the second player in the Atlanta United system to receive a callup from U.S. Under-19 head coach Marko Mitrović, as the Serbian called up Noah Cobb for a training camp in April.
ATL UTD 2 (4-14-3, 15 points) returns to action Saturday, July 23 when it visits Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida to take on Tampa Bay Rowdies (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN+).
