Some of the brightest prospects in Atlanta United’s academy are in Mexico City representing the best of the next generation of MLS. They’re one of eight teams – four each from MLS and Mexico’s Liga MX – participating in the Internacional Tournament.

They will face off against some of the best academies in North America: FC Dallas, L.A. Galaxy and Toronto FC, as well as Atlas, Pachuca, Santos Laguna and Toluca. Atlanta United’s squad,  a mix of talents born in 2001 and 2002, will be in Mexico for twelve days competing. If they make the final, they will play in the historic Estadio Azteca, the venue for countless Mexican National Team games – as well as several World Cup matches – in the past.

Before they left, the squad sent a message to their fans and teammates back home.
