With an additional donation of $1 million to organizations working to provide storm relief, Arthur Blank, Atlanta United and the Atlanta Falcons today expanded efforts to generate donations for the victims of recent hurricanes.
Blank, who announced a commitment from his Family Foundation to match up to $1 million to the Red Cross last week, today pledged another $1 million grant to be split between the Red Cross, United Way and World Vision. The teams also launched a public service announcement featuring Blank, Falcons Head Coach Dan Quinn and Atlanta United President Darren Eales, encouraging contributions to any of the three organizations. Also featured in the PSA are Falcons kicker Matt Bryant, who hails from the Houston area and has significant ties to Florida, as well as Atlanta United Captain, Michael Parkhurst. The PSA, which is available here was initially distributed on the clubs’ and Blank Foundation’s respective digital and social media platforms, and will also be shown at Mercedes-Benz Stadium during upcoming matches and games.
Donations to the Red Cross that will include Blank’s match should be made at: https://www.redcross.org/falconsunited-pub; contributions to United Way can be made at: https://www.unitedway.org; contributions to World Vision can be made at: https://www.worldvision.org.
Give Back To Others is one of six core values of the Blank Family of Businesses with the understanding that together, we can have a larger collective impact. Millions of people from Texas to Florida and across the Caribbean have been affected by storm damage. Blank, his family foundation and both clubs will use their collective platforms to actively promote helping with relief efforts. In addition to what Blank and the respective clubs are doing, coaches, players and staff from across the Blank Family of Businesses are engaged in organizing and helping relief efforts on an individual basis.
“The devastation and disruption of lives we’ve seen the last couple of weeks is heartbreaking and unimaginable,” said Blank. “So many resources, financial and otherwise, are going to be needed to help people rebuild their lives, and we feel a strong responsibility to help them. I hope all of our fans will join us in supporting the cause in whatever way they can.”
