WHAT: Atlanta United will host an open tryout on Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground in Marietta. Technical staff members from both the Atlanta United Academy and the First Team will be on hand to run and scout the tryout.
The American Family Insurance Dream Tryouts were created to give aspiring athletes the opportunity to try out for Atlanta United. Prior to its inaugural season in 2016, the club held four tryouts in Charlotte, N.C. and Birmingham, Ala., Nashville, Tenn. and Atlanta.

Q: Who is able to participate in the American Family Insurance Dream Tryouts?
The tryout is for 18+ year-old male soccer players with aspirations to play professionally for Atlanta United.
Q: When and where will the tryout take place?
The tryout will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground (861 Franklin Gateway SE, Marietta, GA 30067.)
Q: What is the structure of the tryouts? Am I guaranteed playing time?
The tryout will consist of 9v9 and 11v11 games so that players can be evaluated in game situations. Each player is guaranteed about 40 minutes of playing time per hour.
Q: What do I need to bring on the day of the tryout?
You will need to bring wear your preferred soccer gear (boots, socks, shin guards, shorts, sliders). Atlanta United will provide you with a shirt to wear throughout the tryout. You will also need to bring your ID and Waiver form which you can download from the registration page.
Q: If I am not yet 18, may I still participate?
No, the professional tryout is only for players +18. Your 18th birthday must be on or before December 16th, 1999. If you do not qualify but are interested in our Academy (U12-U19), please reach out to academy@atlutd.com.
Q: How are players evaluated?
Players will be evaluated by the Atlanta United coaching and technical staff according to their ability, potential, and character.
Q: How do you know if you are selected for the team?
The Atlanta United technical staff will contact you individually if they are interested in offering you a contract. You will also receive notification one week after the tryout if you were not selected.
Q: Is there a deadline to register?
Yes, the deadline to register and make your payment is one week before the tryout on Dec. 9th, 2017.
Q: Will Atlanta United assist and pay for travel to participate in the tryout?
Atlanta United will not be able to assist or pay for travel.
Q: Will Atlanta United assist in securing a visa?
Atlanta United will not be able to assist in securing a visa for any player at this time.
Q: What airport should I use if I am flying?
Hartsfield-Jackson International (ATL) is the most convenient airport for travel.
