With the first MLS match since July 20 just around the corner, Atlanta United is fast at work to prep for the last nine matches of the season. The first of the nine matches is this weekend; the 5-Stripes will be traveling to California to take on the L.A. Galaxy on August 24.

Tuesday’s practice also coincided with Supporters Day for Atlanta United. A group of faithful 17s were able to come to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground to not only watch practice, but also interact with the players.

Before training, interim Head Coach Rob Valentino, spoke with the crowd about appreciating them coming out to support the club. “We are a representation of what you guys bring” said Valentino as he encouraged the fans to make as much noise as possible to cheer the 5-Stripes on.

The practice also marked the first for newly signed designated player Alexey Miranchuk. The Russian midfielder was signed from Atalanta BC of Italy’s Serie A during the secondary transfer window.

Miranchuk also expressed his gratitude for the fans being there at his introductory press conference. "Thanks to everyone who came," said Miranchuk during his welcoming press conference. "I think it is great to show the supporters what is going on behind the scenes."

Fans not traveling to see Atlanta United play the Galaxy can catch all the action on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV - 10:30 p.m. ET kickoff. As well as listening on local radio 92.9 The Game, La Mejor, and Sirius XM Channel 157. Follow the match with real-time stats and live play-by-play on our Matchday Hub page.
