Atlanta United today announced it has loaned forward Latte Lath to Union Berlin for the 2026-27 season. The German Bundesliga side will take on the forward's full salary, opening up a Designated Player spot for Atlanta. Thedeal also includes a permanent transfer option at the conclusion of the loan.
“After discussions with Manu, we felt this move was the right opportunity for everyone involved,” said Chris Henderson, Atlanta United Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director. “Union Berlin competes at a high level in one of the top leagues in the world, and this gives him the chance to continue his development in a strong environment. We appreciate everything he brought to Atlanta and look forward to following his progress throughout the season. This move also opens up a Designated Player spot for us which we will look to fill in this summer window.”
Latte Lath has made 44 MLS appearances for Atlanta since joining at the start of the 2025 season. He scored nine goals and added three assists. The forward joined Atlanta from Middlesbrough F.C. in February 2025. Prior to his time with Middlesbrough, the Ivorian played for Serie A side Atalanta and in the Swiss Super League with F.C. St. Gallen.
