Atlanta United today announced plans to participate in the 46th Annual Atlanta Pride Festival on Sunday, Oct. 9. As the largest event of its kind in the Southeast, as well as the largest event in the country to coincide with National Coming Out Day, Atlanta United employees and their families will march together with an estimated 300,000 members of the Atlanta community.
“We look forward to participating in the Pride Festival and marching with our community,” said Atlanta United President Darren Eales. “It’s inspiring to see Atlanta United staff and supporters continue to celebrate diversity and inclusion not only this week but throughout the year.”
The Pride Parade will begin at the Civic Center MARTA station and will head north on Peachtree Street until 10th Street. From 10th Street, the march will head toward Piedmont Park, where it officially ends at the Charles Allen Gate entrance. The Atlanta United group will wear and distribute custom tie-dyed T-shirts and hand out commemorative memorabilia.
