Year-end award nominations have arrived. On Monday, the league announced nominations for the MLS End-of-Year Awards. The list includes six players from Atlanta United and seven total nominations.
Saba Lobjanidze has been nominated Landon Donovan MLS MVP. The winger is putting together one of the best seasons for a winger at the club and in the league. He joins a competitive group which includes Golden Boot leader Christian Benteke (D.C. United), last year's award winner Luciano Acosta (FC Cincinnati) and superstar Lionel Messi (Inter Miami CF).
Atlanta United Homegrown Jay Fortune leads Atlanta United with the most nominations. He is nominated for two awards, MLS Young Player of the Year and Audi Goals Drive Progress Impact Award. The latter honors an MLS player who showed outstanding dedication to charitable efforts and serving the community during the 2024 season.
Last season, Atlanta United had two players win an end-of-year award. Thiago Almada was awarded MLS Young Player of the Year. Giorgos Giakoumakis won MLS Newcomer of the Year for 2023.
Voting runs October 7-21, ending October 21 just after Decision Day. Current MLS players, club technical staffs and media members will vote to determine the winners.
Fans will have the opportunity to weigh in on the top plays of the season. Both the AT&T 5G Goal of the Year and MLS Save of the Year presented by Allstate will be determined by a fan vote. Fans can cast their votes MLSsoccer.com.
