Atlanta United's availability report features the same three players it did before the 5-Stripes suited up for a road matchup against Nashville SC. Now they're back at home with a Saturday night 7:30 p.m. kickoff against Columbus Crew, and they've got the same mission as last time out: get three points and stay alive in the playoff race.
Forward Emmanuel Latte Lath is listed as out for the weekend, though head coach Ronny Deila pointed out that he participated in training during media availability Thursday. For Latte Lath, the gaffer said the break the forward has gotten while healing should allow him to play through the end of the season. We'll see if he continues to train next week and if he can be match fit for the San Diego match.
Edwards, who has been dealing with his own hamstring injury since the end of July, will also miss the Columbus match despite having trained with the team this week. The two decisions err on the side of precaution for an Atlanta United side that is otherwise healthy and has the depth to operate without Edwards and Latte Lath for Saturday.
Jay Fortune remains sidelined with a foot injury he suffered back in June. He's out of his walking boot now, and the club's initial statement said his rehab process would determine when he returns to play.
Apart from injuries, fitness could affect what options Deila has Saturday, with multiple First Team players returning from their international duties abroad. We'll see tomorrow who is ready to go in the starting XI and who could make an impact off the bench as a substitute.
