Atlanta United defender Caleb Wiley made his first appearance with the United States men's national team on Wednesday night against Mexico in the Allstate Continental Clásico. Wiley was subbed on in the 90th minute for defender Sergiño Dest.
This appearance marked the 18-year-old's debut with the senior national team. Wiley has made six appearances with the U.S. U-20s and three appearances with the U.S. U-17s.
USA tied Mexico 1-1 in the match, extending its unbeaten streak against its North American rival to five games. Mexico was first on the board, scoring 10 minutes into the second half. The USMNT equalized in the 82nd minute off a finish from forward Jesús Ferreira.
Wiley will return back to Atlanta for the 5-Stripes' next match against Chicago Fire FC on Sunday, April 23 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
