ATLANTA — Caleb Wiley has received a call-up from the United States Under-20 Men’s Youth National Team for its upcoming training camp in Frisco, Texas from Oct. 25 to Nov. 5, U.S. Soccer announced today.
Wiley, 17, most recently represented the U.S. U-20’s at the Revelations Cup in Mexico City, Mexico in September, starting against Mexico in a 2-1 defeat. Head coach Mikey Varas’ side won the 2022 Concacaf Championship, clinching qualification to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup as well as the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Wiley has made five appearances with the U.S. U-20s and three appearances with the U.S. U-17s.
The Homegrown defender is coming off an impressive first MLS season in which he started 18 of 26 appearances and played over 1,500 minutes between left back and left wing. Wiley recorded one goal and two assists in 2022, scoring his first career MLS goal in his league debut in a 3-1 win against Sporting KC on Feb. 27.
