What is the Generation adidas Cup?
The Generation adidas Cup is the pinnacle for youth competition as far as MLS is concerned. The main goal being to foster growth and opportunities for homegrown and international clubs through competition. In total, 80 teams are equally split between U-15 and U-17, and they will compete at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida from March 30 – April 7.
The international clubs represented come from four different continents – Asia, Europe, North America, and South America, with a record setting 19 international teams for the 2024 Cup. All 29 MLS clubs will also be competing, including the Atlanta United Academy U-15 and U-17 squads.
Cup format and schedule
- 40 teams, organized into 10 randomized groups of four, will compete for each age group.
- 16 teams will advance to the single-elimination bracket – 10 group winners and top six second place finishers.
- The next-best 16 teams will play in a consolation bracket.
- Every team is guaranteed to play seven 60-minute matches. The championship matches are extended to 70 minutes.
- All matches ending in a regulation tie will go to a penalty kick shootout.
- Awards: Generation adidas Cup Most Valuable Player, Top Scorer, and best Goalkeeper (presented by Allstate). The Cup Rising XI will be presented by BODYARMOR. Atlanta United's own James Donaldson is being marked as a future breakout star.

How to Watch
Fans can watch the Generation adidas cup with the MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Days one, two, and three will be shown, as well as the round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. On March 30, at 10 a.m. EST, Atlanta United’s U-15s match against Manchester United FC will be streamed during day one.
