Some individual moments of red, black and gold brilliance received some well-deserved recognition this week, with Atlanta United players cleaning up in Major League Soccer’s weekly awards.
Atlanta United forward Tito Villalba’s unstoppable, long-distance, 86th minute winner against Orlando City was voted by fans as the best goal in MLS last weekend. Villalba received a throw in, cut inside and launched an unstoppable top-corner finish from all of 35 yards in a memorable moment that would prove to be enough to beat Orlando City in Atlanta’s first ever encounter with them.

Meanwhile, Brad Guzan’s incredible Five Stripes debut continued to earn universal praise. After his overall five-save clean sheet performance earned a nod in the MLS team of the week from league writers, his best moment also earned honors as the best of the week. His incredible reaction save stopped a point blank header from Jonathan Spector on a free kick to keep the scores level and preserve a clean sheet.
What a debut @bguzan is up for MLS Save of the Week!

Both players will have to prove it was no fluke this coming weekend as they face Orlando City once again for the second time in eight days, this time back at home in the ATL. Tickets are sold out for Atlanta United’s final game at Bobby Dodd Stadium, but Ticketmaster Verified Resale tickets are still available here.
