It's a new year and a new calendar for international soccer. In 2024, we'll see the Olympic Games in Paris and Copa América, which will be held on American soil and open at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
While January remains the MLS offseason for Atlanta United, three of the club's players will be staying active with their national teams: Thiago Almada, Edwin Mosquera and Caleb Wiley.

The 2023 MLS Young Player of the Year has been called up to join the Argentina U-23 national team training camp ahead of CONMEBOL’s 2024 Pre-Olympic Tournament, which determines which U-23 teams from South America will qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games. The tournament runs from January 20-February 11 in Venezuela.
On January 10, Argentina announced Almada was among the 23 players named to the roster for the tournament.

The 19-year-old Homegrown has been called up to the January camp for the United States men's national team by manager Gregg Berhalter, which will take place in Orlando, Fla. from January 8-16. Then, the team heads to San Antonio to open its 2024 schedule with a friendly against Slovenia. Wiley made his USMNT debut in April 2023, coming on as a substitute in the Allstate Continental Clásico against Mexico.
Mosquera joins Colombia’s U-23 national team training camp ahead of CONMEBOL’s 2024 Pre-Olympic Tournament. The 22-year-old has two appearances for Colombia’s U-23 side, starting two friendlies against Peru’s U-23s in December.
