The U.S. men’s national team looks to make history when it takes on Bosnia and Herzegovina in a December friendly. A win on Saturday would make 17 victories on the calendar year, a record-setting milestone for the national team.
Two Atlanta United players will be suiting up to join the red, white and blue on Saturday: defenders George Bello and Brooks Lennon. And U.S. national team head coach Gregg Berhalter confirmed on Friday that both will be starting.
Bello has made five appearances for the USMNT. He started two matches during the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup, including the final against Mexico, and started two of the World Cup qualifying matches for the U.S. earlier this year. The 19-year-old was recently nominated for U.S. Soccer’s Chipotle Young Male Player of the Year award.
Lennon will be making his first cap with the senior team. He's previously made appearances with the U-23, U-20 and U-18 squads, but a strong 2021 season with Atlanta United earned the wingback his first USMNT callup under Berhalter.
