How to Watch, Listen & Live Stream: Atlanta United's 2022 MLS Opener

Soccer season is back. Atlanta United opens the MLS regular season Sunday, Feb. 27 at 3:00 p.m. EST at Mercedes-Benz Stadium against Western Conference opponent Sporting Kansas City.

Sunday marks the first home opener in club history at Mercedes-Benz Stadium for Atlanta United. The matchup is one of two MLS matches on opening weekend to air nationally on FOX as part of the 'MLS Is Back' campaign.

Atlanta United and Sporting Kansas City were both playoff teams in 2021. Atlanta United rallied in the second half of the season, tying for most points earned in the table, to secure a playoff spot. Sporting Kansas City finished the regular season with a 17-10-7 record and third place in the Western Conference table.

It's the first regular season match for Atlanta United after a short offseason and full preseason. The team played six preseason scrimmages and spent two weeks in Mexico training at Club Atlas Colomos in Guadalajara. The team returned to Atlanta in mid-February and has been back at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground for two weeks leading up to the opener.
