ATL UTD 2 continues its search for its first win of the season, coming off a tough 3-0 result at home against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Wednesday, March 25.
GOALKEEPERS
The goalkeeper trio of Vicente Reyes, Justin Garces and Dylan Castanheira has been a bright spot for head coach Jack Collison’s squad, as each shot-stopper has started one match for ATL UTD 2.
With Castanheira making seven saves in his Atlanta return, the save tally between the three has reached a total of 19 stops; this sum is more than any other USL Championship team in the league.
NOAH COBB
Atlanta United academy product Noah Cobb signed his first professional deal on Wednesday, March 23, and the 16-year-old defender has looked every bit of professional in his 2022 campaign so far.
Deployed at center back against the Rowdies on Wednesday, Cobb led both teams in clearances with five and interceptions with four.
He sits in a tie atop the USL Championship interception rankings this season, logging 12 on the year so far.
CHARLESTON BATTERY IN 2022
The Battery has been both the victim and the beneficiary of 1-0 results this season, beating 10-men FC Tulsa before falling to USL Championship newcomers Detroit City FC 1-0 on Saturday, March 19.
Sierra Leonean international Augustine Williams scored the team’s lone goal, slotting in Aidan Apodaca’s pass first time to complete a breakaway against FC Tulsa in the 10th minute.
Charleston has struggled keeping the ball, sporting a 39.4 percent possession rate and 49 percent passing accuracy in 2022.
