ATL UTD 2 is taking on Memphis for the fourth time in team history. The clubs split the series with each having one win, one tie and one loss. Atlanta is coming off of its largest margin of victory in team history with a 5-0 win over FC Tulsa, the leader of the Central Division. After Wednesday night’s win, Atlanta now stands in second place in the division heading into this weekend’s action.

Sunday’s match will only be Memphis’s second competition of the 2021 season. In its first match, Memphis lost 1-0 versus Birmingham Legion FC. Goalkeeper John Burner was the headliner of the match with nine saves. However, Neco Brett found the back of the net in the 60th minute to secure the win for Birmingham.

This is the first of four meetings between ATL UTD 2 and Memphis this season.

Additionally, Atlanta United announced former midfielder Jeff Larentowicz will be making his broadcast debut Sunday as color analyst for Sunday’s match. Larentowicz, a 16-year MLS veteran who retired from professional soccer on April 5, will be joined on the call by veteran play-by-play commentator Jon Nelson.
