ATL UTD 2 is looking for its first win of the 2020 USL Championship season. The team is coming off a 3-0 defeat last weekend at Charleston Battery. Tony Annan, Atlanta United’s Academy Director, was appointed interim head coach on July 27 after Stephen Glass was promoted to Atlanta United First Team interim head coach.
The Miami FC will be playing its first match since the season was suspended. In its only match of the 2020 campaign, Miami lost 4-1 to Saint Louis FC. The lone goal scorer was former Atlanta United and ATL UTD 2 striker Romario Williams, who played for the club from 2017-2019. The Miami FC is in its first season competing in the USL Championship.
This will mark the first of four meetings this season between ATL UTD 2 and The Miami FC after both sides were put into Group H for the 2020 season. This match will be played behind closed doors due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
