Bethlehem Steel FC saw its season-long five-match unbeaten streak come to an end on the road, falling at rival Penn FC, 3-2 on Friday, July 6. Leading-scorer Fabian Herbers put Bethlehem up 1-0 in the 17th minute, but Penn quickly took control with goals from Frederick Opoku and Luck Mkosana in the 20th and 25th minutes, respectively. Isaac Osae extended Penn’s lead in the 55th, while Herbers scored his second of the night in the 82nd to finish the scoring.
Wednesday’s match marks the first meeting between the two teams and it will be Atlanta’s first home match since June 16 versus Ottawa Fury FC which was abandoned in the 44th minute due to inclement weather.
