Recent Form
Since Leagues Cup, Atlanta United has been playing some of its best soccer of the season. Newcomers Saba Lobjandize, Xande Silva and Tristan Muyumba have helped Atlanta United earn 11 points and the only loss in the club's previous six matches was to Supporters' Shield leaders FC Cincinnati. On the other side, CF Montréal has gathered a mixed set of results in September. They lost 4-2 to Columbus Crew then played Chicago Fire to a scoreless draw before battling it out with Cincinnati to a 1-1 draw at home.
Series History and Last Meeting
Atlanta owns the all-time series with a 6-3-3 record and also won the most recent meeting when the two sides met at Stade Saputo in July. On a steamy night in Québec, Brooks Lennon scored the lone goal, his second goal in as many matches, to give Atlanta United a 1-0 win and their second straight clean sheet.
Players To Watch
Saba Lobjanidze (Atlanta United) – Atlanta United's newest designated player has been producing at a rapid rate for the 5-Stripes. In three straight matches, Lobjanidze has contributed two assists and two goals. Most recently, he scored the lone goal in the team's 1-1 draw with D.C. United on the road Wednesday night. Head coach Gonzalo Pineda has been rotating Lobjanidze with Edwin Mosquera on the wing. Whether he's in the starting XI or coming off the bench, Lobjanidze has been a spark plug for Atlanta's attack.
Kwadwo Opoku (CF Montréal) – The 22-year-old Ghana native has gotten hot as of late for CF Montréal. He's scored two goals in his last three games, including the lone goal in the 1-1 tie with FC Cincinnati. For his career, Opoku has 10 goals and seven assists in 62 regular-season games. The striker joined CF Montréal via trade with LAFC this summer and signed a new contract with Montréal less than three weeks later that will take him through the 2026 MLS season with an option for 2027.
