Series History and Last Meeting
Atlanta United and Houston Dynamo FC have only played each other three times, and each match was a high scoring affair with the winning club scoring more than three goals. Atlanta has a record of 2-1-0 (W-L-D) against Houston. This will be the first time the two clubs are meeting since July of 2019. In an exciting battle between East vs West, Atlanta United scored five goals at home to win 5-0 over Houston.
Players to watch
Xande Silva (Atlanta United) – After coming off his first goal of the season against Charlotte FC, midfielder Xande Silva getting hot would only help Atlanta United in their quest for more scoring. He got the team back within striking distance with a curling shot that came just from the left side of the box, his first MLS goal of the season.
Hector Herrera (Houston Dynamo FC) – The Houston captain was named to MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 18 after helping his team earn a 2-2 draw against Portland. He often leads his team in key statistical categories like passing accuracy, passes in the final third, possession won and chances created.
