Players to Watch
Brad Guzan (Atlanta United) – As an MLS veteran goalkeeper, Brad Guzan has stood tall for the 5-Stripes throughout this season, including the team’s last match on the road in Canada. The goalkeeper came up with some big stops, including on a close-range shot from his former teammate Josef Martínez, and finished the night with six saves to limit Montréal to just one goal. Guzan has three clean sheets on the year so far and has put up key performances like the one against D.C. United that earned him a spot on MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchday 21.
Santiago Rodríguez (NYCFC) – With eight goals and seven assists, both of which are tied for most on the team, Rodríguez has played a large part in New York’s offense. His high ability to create chances, especially in the final third, is due to his quick touches on the ball. A key to Atlanta walking away with a good result will be containing NYCFC diverse attack, especially Rodríguez.
