Atlanta United will continue its Round of 16 play of the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League against FC Motagua after a 1-1 draw last Tuesday night in Honduras.
The two clubs faced off at Estadio OlÃmpico Metropolitano, in San Pedro Sula. The match will take place at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw at 8:00 p.m. EST as the Five Stripes host Leg Two of the international competition, which hosts the top 16 clubs from North America, Central America and the Caribbean. The top winner will earn a spot in the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup.
Leg One featured Motagua scoring the opening goal, with Josef Martinez responding with his first goal of the season in the 35th minute. Brad Guzan was ultimately the difference maker, helping to preserve the tie with five saves in the match.
Atlanta United goes into the match with an advantage after scoring an away goal, and advances to the quarterfinals with a win or a 0-0 draw. The match will be televised on FS1 and TUDN.
