Atlanta United's professional gamer Paulo Neto won his fourth eMLS title on Sunday February 28, becoming the first-ever gamer in League history to do so.
Throughout the three-day competition Neto won a total of 18 games, including a 5-1 victory in the Final vs Austin FC's Diogo. Paulo drew 3 games in the Qualifiers and lost only 1 in the Group Stage.
22 gamers participated in League Series 1, presented by TikTok, the competition that officially kicked off the 2024 eMLS season, organized by Major League Soccer (MLS) and EA SPORTS FCTM Pro.
“It’s always an incredible feeling to be a champion, and every time it continues to be just as special as the last time,” said Paulo Neto following the final. “I’m very happy to represent Atlanta United and to win my fourth title in three years with the club. The goal is to accomplish even more than we did last year.”
The matches were streamed across the Club's and MLS Twitch and YouTube channels led by its all-star commentary crew in host Faizal Khamisa, play-by-play announcer and reigning Esports Awards Caster of the Year Dan Gaskin, and commentator Mike Labelle. The Clubs will now prepare for League Series 2 on March 1-3.
