Head coach Tata Martino has his preferred XI available for selection, and it's led by his summer signing.Â
Breel Embolo leads the lines for Atlanta United in their 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff against Inter Miami. He'll be accompanied by Miguel Almirón and Alexey Miranchuk, a trio of designated players that contributed to each of the 5-Stripes' 3 goals in their win over CF Montréal on Wednesday. And against second place Inter Miami, they'll need to match the firepower the visitors will bring.Â
Two summer signings start in the midfield, Mauricio Amaro and Giuliano Galoppo, and they'll join Tristan Muyumba. The French number 8 had a brief substitute appearance on Wednesday and will be one of the freshest 5-Stripes on the pitch Saturday night.Â
In defense, the 5-Stripes stay consistent all the way until the right back position, where Tomás Jacob returns from suspension. That's Lucas Hoyos in net, Júnior Alonso and Paulo DÃaz at center back and ElÃas Báez at left back — all the same from the midweek. Â
Here's the full starting XI for Atlanta United vs Inter Miami CF:
Lucas Hoyos, Tomás Jacob, Júnior Alonso, Paulo DÃaz, ElÃas Báez, Mauricio Amaro, Tristan Muyumba, Giuliano Galoppo, Alexey Miranchuk, Miguel Almirón (C), Breel Embolo
Reserves: Jayden Hibbert, Enea Mihaj, Matt Edwards, Cooper Sanchez, Jay Fortune, Steven Alzate, Fafa Picault, Luke Brennan, Sergio Santos
Roster Notes:
-- Breel Embolo starts in what will be his eighth match as an Atlanta United player. The Swiss forward scored his first goal in his debut against Miami September 5 and had his second against CF Montréal Wednesday night. It was the club's 500th goal in its MLS regular season history.
-- Miguel Almirón and Alexey Miranchuk are both on 13 goal contributions this season, a team high for the 5-Stripes. Almirón bagged his sixth of the year last time out against Montréal.
-- Giuliano Galoppo starts after being named Man of the Match against Montréal. The Argentine loan signing has 3 goal contributions in four matches since joining the 5-Stripes.Â
-- Atlanta United and Inter Miami drew 2-2 when the last played each other Sept. 5. The series between the two sides is dead split at 7-7-5 throughout its MLS history.Â
-- The 5-Stripes are 5-2-2 (W-L-D) in home matches against the Herons, having outscored Miami 16-10 in those fixtures.
