Atlanta United striker Giorgos Giakoumakis is a featured guest on this week's episode of Offside with Taylor Twellman, a podcast series hosted by MLS Season Pass analyst Taylor Twellman. The profile tracks the career of Giakoumakis -- from his native Greece to Dutch football to Celtic F.C. in Glasgow, Scotland to now Atlanta. Along with Giakoumakis, the podcast includes voices from Atlanta United such as vice president and technical director Carlos Bocanegra, fullback Brooks Lennon, and goalkeeper Brad Guzan.

The episode dropped Wednesday morning.

Giakoumakis joined MLS from Celtic F.C. in the Scottish Premiership in Febuary 2023, signing with Atlanta United through the 2026 season. Since joining MLS, the striker from Greece has quickly become one of the league's most prolific goal scorers. In 2023, he scored 17 goals on his way to being named MLS Newcomer of the Year (beating out Lionel Messi) and competing in the Golden Boot race, despite missing significantly more time than his competitors. This season, Giakoumakis leads Atlanta United in scoring with five goals.

This is the first time that an Atlanta United player has appeared on the weekly podcast series, which launched last summer and highlights American soccer. Host Twellman, a well-known and experienced voice in American soccer, played nine years in MLS and spent 13 years as an analyst.

Offside with Taylor Twellman welcomes athletes, coaches and executives from the game’s professional landscape, as well as high-profile guests in the world of entertainment. It is a Major League Soccer podcast produced by Apple TV and Rain Delay Media.
