It's another historical moment for Atlanta United's Thiago Almada. The 22-year-old from Argentina set a new club record for assists in a single season Saturday night in the team's home match against Inter Miami CF. He was awarded a secondary assist on the fourth goal of the night scored by Giorgos Giakoumakis in the 76th minute.

Almada now has 15 assists on the season. He currently leads MLS in that category.

The record was previously held by Miguel Almirón and Julian Gressel. And with five matches remaining in the regular season for Atlanta United, Almada will have a good chance to add to that total.

The record comes in the middle of a stellar 2023 MLS campaign for the World Cup winner. In August, Almada was named MLS Player of the Matchday for contributing to three of Atlanta United's four goals in the 4-0 win over Nashville SC. He's received the honor three times in 2023. He joins Josef Martínez (2018 and 2019) as the only players in club history to earn the honor at least three times in a single season.
