All the picks are in. Atlanta United selected four college players in Tuesday's MLS SuperDraft. Meet the selections:
Round 1, Pick 19 - Erik Centeno, Forward
With the 19th overall pick, Atlanta United selected forward Erik Centeno out of the University of the Pacific. The Stockton, Calif. native is part of the 2022 Generation Adidas class as one of eight highly touted prospects in this year's draft. As a freshman in 2021, Centeno started and appeared in all 16 games for the Pacific Tigers. He recorded six goals and five assists, led the team in points, and was named Freshman Player of the Year for the West Coast Conference.
Round 2, Pick 19 - Tristan Trager, Midfielder
With the 47th overall pick, Atlanta United selected Tristan Trager from Air Force. The 5-foot-11 midfielder scored 13 goals and had seven assists as a senior. He was named Offensive Player of the Year for the Western Athletic Conference and First Team All-WAC for the 2021-22 season. The San Clemente, Calif. native was valedictorian of his high school and majored in geospatial science at Air Force.
Round 3, Pick 19 - Daniel Bloyou, Forward
With the 75th overall pick, Atlanta United selected forward Daniel Bloyou from Penn State. In 2021, he scored four goals and finished with seven assists for the Nittany Lions. He helped Penn State reach the NCAA tournament this past season and scored a goal in the team's second round loss to Hofstra. Bloyou, originally from Ghana, spent five seasons with the Philadelphia Union youth academy.
Round 3, Pick 32 - Tola Showunmi, Forward
With the 88th overall pick, Atlanta United selected Tola Showunmi from the University of New Hampshire. The Enfield, England native is a 6-foot-three forward. He was named 2021 America East Striker of the Year and selected to the All-Northeast Region First Team and America East All-Conference First Team. His team-high 10 goals during the 2021-22 season led New Hampshire to a program-best 17 wins, an appearance in the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament and a no. 9 ranking in the final United Soccer Coaches National poll of the season.
Atlanta United's fourth pick was a compensatory pick received in exchange for Will Vint, a Homegrown midfielder acquired by the Colorado Rapids in 2020 in a trade.
