Atlanta United had two picks coming into tonight's SuperDraft, one in each of the first two rounds. The overall picks for Atlanta were No. 7 and No. 36. Atlanta traded their third round pick at No. 65 overall to Nashville SC back in June for $175,000 in General Allocation Money.

Atlanta United traded this pick to Real Salt Lake in exchange for $175,000 in 2023 General Allocation Money (GAM).
Round 2, Pick 7 - Tyler Young, Campbell
With the 36th overall pick in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, Atlanta United selected Tyler Young from Campbell University. Young is 22 years old and played attacking midfielder for the Fighting Camels.
Young, a two-time Big South Offensive Player of the Year and two-time All-South Region performer, started 41 of his 49 appearances over three seasons at Campbell, tallying 18 goals and 21 assists. The midfielder scored four goals and added three assists as a redshirt freshman in 2020-21, earning Big South All-Freshman Team honors. He went on to record nine goals and nine assists in 18 appearances as a redshirt sophomore in 2021, where he was named Big South Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Big South and Second-Team All South Region after leading the conference in points (27). The Troutman, N.C. native closed out his college career with five goals and nine assists in 20 apperaances this past season, again earning Big South Offensive Player of the Year , First-Team All-Big South and Third-Team All-South Region honors. Young helped guide Campbell to back-to-back Big South Regular Season championships in 2021 and 2022 as well as the 2021 Big South conference tournament.
