ATL UTD celebrate Thiago Almada's World Cup participation with two billboards in Buenos Aires

Thiago Caballito 16x9

To celebrate Thiago Almada's participation with the Argentina National Team in the FIFA World Cup 2022™ in Qatar, Atlanta United set up two billboards in predetermined locations in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The first one is located in the neighborhood of Caballito, one of the most popular in the Argentinean capital. Atlanta United's, Argentina's and Almada's supporters in Buenos Aires can find it in the intersection of Avenida José María Moreno and Avenida Directorio, just above the José María Moreno subway station.

The second billboard can be found in the Liniers train station, close to Vélez Sarsfield's José Amalfitani Stadium, where Almada professionally debuted. Thiago came to Atlanta United from Vélez at the beginning of 2022 and this November became the first active Atlanta United player to male a World Cup roster.

Liniers is also east of Ciudadela, the city where Almada was born and grew up in.

Almada made his World Cup debut coming in as a substitute in the 84th minute of Argentina's 2-0 win against Poland. In his first year in MLS, Almada played 29 matches, scoring six goals and 12 assists. He was also named Newcomer of the Year by MLS.

Almada and Argentina play on Friday against the Netherlands in the World Cup quarterfinals, and Atlanta United supporters in Atlanta can join our official watch parties in Brewhouse Café and Lean Draft House.
