What is Boxing Day?
Most commonly celebrated at its origins in the U.K., Boxing Day is a religious holiday recognized the day after Christmas (December 26th). A day which started out as a European tradition of donating money and āboxesā of clothing, materials, etc. to the less fortunate has now also become a celebration of soccer with matches played throughout the day.
Boxing Day has now become a fixture for soccer fans across the globe as they tune in to support clubs from the Premier League and the three professional tiers below. With almost every team competing on Boxing Day it has become tradition to come together as supporters and enjoy a day of soccer and community.
So bring your scarves, watch Premier League matches and join Atlanta United staff and supporters to celebrate the beautiful game.
