Florentin Pogba

Atlanta United signed Florentin Pogba as a Discovery Signing Feb. 5, 2019. The central defender is a veteran of France’s Ligue 1 and 2 and most recently played with Turkish Süper Lig side Gençlerbirliği. Born in Guinea, Pogba was raised in France and started his professional career in 2010 with CS Sedan where he spent three seasons. He transferred to Saint-Étienne and made 99 total appearances, including 25 appearances in Europa League action across parts of five seasons before he moved to Gençlerbirliği in January of 2018. Pogba represents Guinea internationally and has 14 caps.

2017-18 (Gençlerbirliği): Pogba made eight starts in Süper Lig play. Türkiye Kupasi: Pogba started one match against Besiktas in a 0-1 loss (2/6).

2017-18 (AS Saint-Étienne): Pogba made five appearances, four starts, in league play. Coupe de France: He made one start in a loss to Troyes (1/24).

2016-17 (AS Saint-Étienne): Pogba made 17 appearances, scored one goal and recorded one assist. Europa League: Pogba made seven appearances, including a pair of matches against Manchester United in the Round of 32. Coupe de la Ligue: Pogba made one appearance.

2015-16 (AS Saint-Étienne): Pogba started 21 matches over 24 appearances. He recorded one assist on the year for a game-winning goal against Nantes in a 2-0 win (9/20). Coupe de France: He made three appearances. Europa League: Pogba made three appearances in qualifying and five appearances between the Group stage and Round of 32.

2014-15 (AS Saint-Étienne): Pogba made 16 appearances, 12 starts, and scored the game-winning goal against Montpellier (12/3). Europa League: Pogba made six appearances in his first European competition. He started in four matches. Coupe de la Ligue: Pogba made one start. Coupe de France: He made one start.

2013-2014 (AS Saint-Étienne): Pogba made his Ligue 1 debut as a substitute in a 1-0 win at Montpellier (12/13). He made four league appearances, all as a substitute. Coupe de France: He made one start.

2012-13 (CS Sedan): Pogba signed with AS Saint-Étienne prior to the start of the 2012-13 season, but he was loaned back to Sedan for the season. He made 34 Ligue 2 appearances and scored three goals. Coupe de la Ligue: Pogba made one start. Coupe de France: He made two starts.

2011-12 (CS Sedan): Pogba made 32 appearances, 31 starts, scored four goals and recorded two assists. Coupe de la Ligue: Pogba started three matches in Sedan’s run to the Round of 16.

2010-11 (CS Sedan): Pogba made his league debut Feb. 5 in a 1-0 loss to Boulogne. He made 13 appearances and started 12 times. Pogba recorded his first professional assist in a 3-0 win against Vannes (4/15). He totaled three assists in Ligue 2 play.

INTERNATIONAL: Internationally, Pogba represents Guinea and made his debut as a 19-year-old against Mali on August 11, 2010. He has 14 caps with Guinea. As a youth international, he represented France.
