Atlanta United 2 signed Spanish midfielder Javier Armas on Jan. 18, 2024. Armas was selected as the No. 48 overall pick out of Oregon State in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.
Prior to Atlanta, the La Coruña native spent five years at Oregon State, totaling 77 appearances, six goals and 10 assists. During the 2023 campaign, Armas was named a United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American and was honored to the All-PAC-12 First Team after starting in 20 matches and recording four assists as the Beavers advanced to the College Cup for the first time in program history. In his junior season, he was named to the All-PAC-12 Second Team after appearing in 11 matches before suffering a season-ending injury.
Armas played for the Deportivo de la Coruña Academy for nine years before making the move to the States.
