This week on Keeping Up With King...
I joined 50 of my friends who are like me and learning how to become a service dog. Together, we puppies-in-training took a paw-some puppy class at the Atlanta airport. I got to see the airport for the first time. It's really big! Alongside my trainer, Michelle, I walked the line at ticketing, passed through TSA and security, and saw the special spot just for service dog relief. Through it all, I was excited to see so many people, but my trainer encouraged me to stay calm. Want to know my favorite part? I got to ride the airport shuttle! I don't get to fly very often, but I know my future handler might need me to some day, so I was glad to learn and see it for the first time.
I know you might think a big airport crowd might make a young pup like me nervous, but I'm working on being comfortable standing in lines. And I know to be the best service dog I can be, I'll need to get used to that. Humans are in line all the time! I'm also learning not to jump on people. Even though I love meeting new people, I'm learning to sit when introduced to someone new.
This puppy class at the airport taught me so much. I'm so glad to learn these things in a new environment, and watching all the airplanes land and take off made my tail wag. My future handler may take me to places like the airport, so I'm excited to learn more and experience new things!
