Pereira, 19, transferred to Atlanta United on Jan. 15, 2019 from English Premier League side Watford. The winger comes to the U.S. after spending the last 10 years in Watford’s club system. He joined the club at the U-9 level and progressed through the system all the way to the First Team, where he made his Premier League debut on May 6, 2017. Pereira was a regular fixture on Watford’s U23 team where he played in the Professional Development League the last three seasons. After being named Watford’s Young Player of the Season in 2016/17, Pereira enjoyed a breakout season scoring 13 goals in the 2017/18 campaign. He made eight starts in nine appearances for the U23 team before completing his move to Atlanta United in January.
2018/19 (Watford U23): The midfielder made nine appearances, including eight starts this season for Watford U23. Pereira then joined Atlanta United on Jan. 15, 2019.
2017/18 (Watford U23): Pereira enjoyed a breakout season playing for the U23 side in the Professional Development League. He made 28 total appearances, including 27 starts, and scored 13 goals for Watford. Pereira helped his team finish in fourth place in the South Division of the Professional Development League.
2016/17 (Watford U23): The youth academy product made 21 appearances for Watford’s U23 team. Pereira started 16 of those 21 matches and scored one goal. On May 6, 2017, the winger made his debut with the First Team playing in the Premier League against Leicester City. He earned his second EPL appearance on the final day against Manchester City. At the end of the season, Pereira was voted Watford’s Young Player of the Season.
