Atlanta United is committed to the development of homegrown players. The first step on that pathway is our Regional Development School (RDS). A pre-academy feeder system, the Regional Development School, is a tryout-based program focused on creating high level training environments to push and challenge advanced level players.

What is RDS?

  • What: RDS is a tryout-based program, supplemental to a player’s current training environment (additional small group training). Players who are accepted into the RDS program are given the opportunity to take ownership of their own development and work on technical areas of the game with Atlanta United’s professionally licensed coaches. The curriculum is designed around the development of competitive and advanced level soccer players.
  • Who: Advanced level players, open to both boys and girls, ages 7 to 14. Our RDS Girls location accommodates girls ages 7 to 16.

*All players must try out each season regardless of if you have made the program before or not. This is to ensure we are continuously creating a competitive training environment for all players.

  • When: Weekly 90-minute training seasonally (Fall - 8 weeks, Winter I - 6 weeks, Winter II - 6 weeks, Spring - 8 weeks).
  • Where: Various locations surrounding the Metro Atlanta area. Please refer to our Register page to view all upcoming RDS Programs.
  • Cost: Players can reserve an RDS tryout spot with a $1 credit card hold. The remaining balance will be processed automatically pending acceptance into the program.
